XR SUPER SERIES LATE MODELS
STUART, Iowa (July 11, 2022) – Jonathan Davenport led wire-to-wire to win the $20,000 XR Super Series top prize at the Fever Heat 100 Monday night.
Davenport collected his third XRSS win of the year, absolutely dominating the 50-lap feature, while great battles raged behind him at the quarter-mile Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway.
While Davenport drove away, second through fifth was hotly contested right up to the checkered flag, as Tim McCreadie nipped Ryan Gustin for second at the line by just inches. Mike Marlar finished fourth and Chad Simpson finished fifth after a strong effort.
Davenport’s three XR Super Series wins (All-Tech, Belleville ½-mile, Stuart) are second to Chris Madden’s four (Bristol twice, Charlotte twice) in the series’ inaugural campaign. Chris Ferguson (Bristol), Dale McDowell (Bristol), McCreadie (All-Tech), Kyle Larson (Charlotte) and Shane Clanton (Belleville ¼-mile) are also XRSS winners this year.
